Tension Headache

Poem by: Corine Pelletier
Coffee, milk, no sugar, please.
Walk through the door, hang up the coat.
Enthusiastic.
Barley seated, phones are ringing.
People are running.
"Did you finish this?"
"It's on your desk"
"How about that?"
"It's on your desk"
Tension rises,
pressure in my temples.
Disruption,
why can't you let me work?
I want to work.
Pacing and groaning behind me.
Annoyance.
Bored, uninteresting.
I think I need another cup of coffee.
Customer satisfaction,
Smile!
I can't wait for the clock to hit 5:00 PM
"Wait! Before you leave can you do this for me?"
Eyes roll, I turn around and smile,
"Of course!"
I love my job,
doesn't mean I'm not tired.

I'm feeling this one; all the way to the proverbial "eye roll". Every single time. Every time. Makes you want to reach out and "touch" someone....lol. I relate to this heavily and I appreciate you sharing this; its what a lot of people think that is in an office setting you have detailed, yet are afraid of saying this. Awesome work!
Don't know how I missed this one, Corine, sorry about that! You put me right there in that office, feeling that headache and struggling just to carry on. Excellent!
