Punishment

The worst pain is when someone knows you love them,
But they still ignore you,
And they simply refuse to speak,
I'm really not sure what wrong I've done,
But this punishment isn't fair on me,
I saw you in the gym last night,
You were speaking to another guy,
Whilst I was in the corner,
Wiping a tear from my eye,
But you wouldn't care,
Your heart is stained,
I sat and waited,
Thought you'd change,
Maybe you're normal,
And I'm deranged,
I can never put trust in a girl again,
I won't move on,
I know I can't,
We could've been special,
You made it hard,
You're the reason,
I've got these scars,
And you're the reason,
I'm going far,
Away from you,
Away from us,
You chose to push away my love,
But you're the only one I want,
Your pride is stronger than your heart,
And that's the reason we're apart,
All I did was speak the truth,
I guess I wasn't right for you,
So carry on,
Don't change your ways,
One day you'll realise,
Be amazed,
I would've cared and kept you safe,
I would've given you my name,
Our children would've had our traits,
Our marriage would've been so great,
Rest in peace,
What could've been,
This game of love,
I'll never win...
