I long for a friend

Someone willing to love

To spare me of helpless isolation

What I would do for a hug

Something to make my heart beat once more

I lay on my couch, my only friend the creeping darkness on lonely nights

Every day I dream of the love I could feel

I fantasise the good times

The smiles and laughter

But they are all in my head

My dreams are happier than my waking life

I see the happy couple's everyday

Staring into each other's eyes, taking it all for granted

While I sit alone and watch, angry with envy

Oh, What I would do for a friend
