Fortunately enough, I cannot be labeled as sexist, chauvinistic or misogynistic, as my dear feminist friends  are inclined to tag most individuals, who dare hit the nail of feminine issues right on the head. But dare I say that, even if anyone decides to chastise me for sharing in the ideals of what is written in the volume of the books, I have absolutely no problem, whatsoever; because the title of this article is not borne out of my own creativity. It is out of the experience of, King Solomon, the wisest man in history, who ironically would also marry the most women in history.

In Ecclesiastes 7:26, the legendary ‘playboy’ noted that “I discovered that a seductive woman is a trap more bitter than death. Her passion is a snare, and her soft hands are chains. Those who please God will escape her, but sinners will be caught in her snare”.

For having endured and, some may even say, enjoyed, the company of 1000 women, there is no better person in history whose words about women should be taken more seriously; and the least anybody can/could do is to practice all his sayings religiously, and not to ride roughshod over the same.

A devilish or, as the legendary king might want to put it, ‘seductive’, woman can make every attempt to seduce a man, but her success as the wise man once again observed, is only dependent on the strength of the man to whom the evil plot is directed; because so long as the man is both mentally and spiritually robust, all her scheming would just be an exercise in futility.

In other words, it is easy to succumb to temptations, just as it is very easy to overcome the same, based on your level of spiritual maturity and critical thinking. But “let no man say when he is tempted that, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man; but every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust” (James 1:14).Thus even though it has become almost factual that the easiest way to a man’s downfall is a beautiful lady, it is actually the men, who, based on their own evil lust surrender their authority.

“Surely there was no king as Ahab, who sold himself to work wickedness in the sight of the Lord, because his wife Jezebel incited him” (1kings 21:25). And till date, many men continue to fall prey to the counsels of devilish women, even though the ‘power of attorney’ still remains with the men.

And based on the fact of the latter score, I unreservedly agree with the legendary King that, for a man to exhibit such folly, it would be more prudent his mom had either not given birth to him at all, or wish him rather dead so that she would cry over the loss for some few months and forget; than to see such a useless son  wantonly exploited by a Delilah-like or, a jezebel-like lady, who would eventually lead him to an equally agonizing, but longsuffering death anyway.

Hence, dear all, just as Joel Osteen said in his book, THE POWER OF I AM, “Before you give in to temptation, be firm and say, ‘No, I’m going to please God. I want to fulfill my destiny, and quietly walk away’”. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with us all…..
