Open road

A home for the homeless

A hope for the hopeless

A place of peace

Parallel to none

If only one

Could find that seclusion

Beyond the hum and drum

Of the wise and the dumb

And be done

With the droning sound

That hangs over and around

On the roof and underground

And find that baby’s peace

That set every part into a passable piece

But that’s the lease

We signed without release

The open road offers to appease

The lost soul in the chest

The one that looks for rest in the rest

Among the rest

Take every element as shelter

Strange mix like whitewater rafter

Does the soul guide the body or the body the soul?

On an open road you find both better.
