It was one of those nights

When cicadas sing

And see-through curtains

Blow in the breeze

And the buoy bells

Out at sea sing songs

Of a sailor's lament

It was half past ten

The temperature high

Humidity

I could not stay dry

And the satin gown

With shoulder straps down

Felt as damp as the sea, itself

It was then I heard your call

Faraway, in a voice so small

It piqued my interest

That is all

Away my spirit flew on the breeze

Traveled to where you are

With ease

Two spirits touching

Two heartbeats as one

Walls of defenses have

Come undone

At night white curtains

Blow in

In sea wind

Cicadas sing and

I question when

A rendezvous with only you

Will pique my interest again
