They told me I had to write about love,
But I found on this topic I knew nil.
So I took a seat on my window sill,
And as I examined the clouds above,
I saw a mysterious man, my love.
My love fell from the sky onto my sill,
Sparkling like the dew on a grassy hill.
Take my hand and to me declare your love.
He shook his head and said, “I wish I could,
But my love, my time has come. I must go.”
With that he fell beneath the horizon.
Come to me my cruel night stars, if you would,
Please help me find my love; he is the sun.
They told me to the morning I must go.
