"What the fuck is that?" Charlie's loud voice boomed through the small but comfortable cafe. Eyes swivelled their way, while Charlie, Cassidy and Jess looked at me accusingly.

"What is what?" I asked putting on my best mock surprised voice but I knew very well they were staring at my finger. A finger that before yesterday was bare.

Cassidy started tearing up

"He proposed?"

My heart squeezed as I thought back to yesterday. The best day of my life. The day I had not realised I had wanted since I was a little girl. The day where the love of my life got down on one knee and held out a velvet box, a boyish grin on his handsome face.

I focused on the different faces of my best friends.

Jessica with her beautiful brown skin and model good looks, her long brown hair perfectly straight as always. I had never met someone so put together. When I first met her I was pretty sure I had a huge girl crush on her and ten years later my crush still lingered. She stared back at me her mouth hanging open slightly, her perfectly made up face still resembled that of the young girl that I first stumbled on in the most unlikely way. No signs of ageing were present. I was confident that even at fifty she would look twenty five.

Cassidy was positively glowing, her face showing every sign of happiness at the fact that I was engaged. That was the thing about Cassidy. She was such a good hearted person and never meant any harm. Cassidy was one of those girls that could pull off cute and sexy at the same time. Today she was in her full "cuteness" element. Her face  completely bare, Cassidy only pulled out her glasses when she had no makeup on. When Cassidy decided to go full glam however there were no traces of cute but only that of sexy ambitious woman who could steal hearts with one look.

Finally her eyes landed on Charlotte, better known as Charlie, who looked at her impatiently. Charlie was the fiercest one out of the group. With her long black hair scrapped into a high ponytail and her infamous red lips , Charlie was all work and no play. Admittedly when I first met Charlie I was intimidated by such a gorgeous but scary woman. Charlie, being the owner of the most famous women's magazine today, was always busy, buzzing with energy. She oozed confidence, looking the way she did it was not hard. Despite Charlie's cold demeanour however she loved her friends and family more than anything.

I felt my lips part into a huge smile, I could not help it.

"He proposed" I gushed looking down at my beautiful ring, I could tell that he had thought long and hard about it. This was not just any ring, this was the perfect ring.

I felt my hand being tugged by Charlie who inspected the ring throughly.

Jessica also peered down at the ring while Cassidy took her glasses off as she brushed her tears with the back of her hand. She was such a hopeless romantic.

"Holy-"

"-Shit" Jess finished off Charlie's sentence as they glanced back at me in shock and of course happiness.

All of a sudden they were all squealing. It had finally sunk in. I was getting married and they were going to be my bridesmaids.

Out the corner of her eye she could see Josie, the owner of the cute little cafe we often found ourselves at, approaching not looking very happy.

"Josie at 3'o'clock!" I hissed and the girls immediately fell silent and fixed her with their best smiles.

Josie was like the perfect Aunty you never had. I had been the first out of all the girls to meet her and was struck by how motherly she could be to a stranger. A stranger who had stepped into this city having no clue where she was going in life. Fast forward ten years later and she was still the same overly fussy, overprotective woman.

"Girls" Josie warned, her black hair falling down in long waves against her naturally tan skin. At the age of 40 she still looked as young as she did when I first met her.

"Sorry!" Cassidy looking every bit like the naughty child who had been caught.

Even Charlie looked a bit sheepish as she looked at the looming Josie as she played with her ponytail.

"You're driving my customers away and you know I would hate to k-"

"I'm getting married!" I interrupted thrusting my rock in her face hoping she would understand that we would never disturb the peace in her shop.

Josie fell into a stunned silence as she peeled my hand away from her face.

"Are you being serious?!" Josie yelled drawing every customers eyes on us, some frowning, some even grumbling as they stood up as if getting ready to leave.

Josie had long forgotten about her customers however and she stared down in awe at the ring, her big brown eyes just like Cassidy filling with tears.

"So when's the day because we have a lot to do... in fact..."

I felt myself roll my eyes as Charlie went into work mode immediately, I tried not to cringe as I saw her pull out her massive notebook that was in fact colour coordinated with post- it notes neatly poking out of the pages.

Who needs a wedding planner when you have Charlie?
