The Story of How We Fell Apart

Twisting and turning in December nights. Hugs and kisses of Fall goodbyes.Spring gifts of eternity fluttering between us and Summer tales of lost love.

We lied through our teeth, saying we were fine. We were never fine. I was with you, you were with me, supposedly happy. They didn’t know, no one knew. You ruined me, you ripped me apart and danced on the pieces.

I felt the sting, the burn on my skin. You held my hand and I felt dread, you held my heart and I felt it shatter.

I screamed in the darkness for help, I begged everyone to free me from this nightmare.

“Let me go!” I cried, again and again. I begged and pleaded for my life.

I helped you when you cried, I wiped your tears, I cleaned your wounds.

B ut what is my broken soul to do.

I have no one, I gave everything for nothing.

You broke me, you bruised me, you tossed me around like I was nothing. I am not a toy, I am not a corpse. Not yet.

I do not hate you. I hate myself.

I thank you for showing me the truth of this worthless disaster.
