This is another poem that I thought of after visiting the Holocaust Museum.

Nothing is left

Not one single scrap

Of hope

That had left us a long time ago.

O, what shall we do?

Our future is doomed.

For our potential was taken

By those who had

Hearts

That were closed.

They did not accept us,

For we were not like them.

Our day-to-day life

Was alien to them.

Our garb and our dress

Outlandish.

So they lashed out in fear.

A knife in the dark.

And took from us what was not theirs.

So here we all stand,

With nothing but

Empty hearts

That were drained by the ones behind

Iron gates.
