There is more truth in this poem that I really care to reveal.

Fretting, regretting,

Oh clickity-clack,

I bet my life savings on a Cadillac.

Ole Carter was then president,

Then Ford,

Followed by Reagan;

So then I moved

With a groove

Where the best fish carry a sword

And the coconuts are layin’!

So now I walk unspoiled beaches,

Where the calico grows,

Where gold is plenty

And the sweet nectar flows.

We all have fun in the sun

Drinking coca-cola and rum;

But some blue belly made of jelly

Always makes us wake up to go on the run!

Many run from their ex-wives,

So that they can live for free,

Tipping up kill devil bottles bought on social security!

Well this tale doesn’t stop here, if you can now believe,

Neath the palm shade many choose to live out their lives,

Never mind their frivolity!

The courage to roll the dice,

The guts to take the chance,

To wager the test,

Is truly left to men of contingency

Who stand among the best.

It is only those who may enjoy complete freedom

from the IRS!

I see them all dancing neath the stars,

Living a life that is only right,

Hiding from daylight in the cheap hotels and bars.

I prefer to spend my time strolling with the chaquitas,

So fine,

Dancing by the seaside to a reggae band,

romancing the night,

Or walking barefoot in the sand

while I wine the senioritas!
