Summary

The only poem I've ever written in a single draft. In less than two minutes the words found their way from my heart and I hope they can find a place in yours. This is my entry into the 2017 Booksie Poetry Contest.

Patchwork Love

You know just what to say
To make me smile like a fool
Tearing down my walls
Unwinding me as if a fallen spool

You gather my fallen threads
Slowly reel me in
Then ever so carefully
The sewing does begin

Weaving me a new tapestry
In this crazy world we reside
Tightly stitched patterns
Mend the brokenness inside

Like a patchwork quilt
You throw the aspects of my life into one
The pain of the past will be no more
When the masterpiece is done
