Some hands hold burgers,

Others hold hearts.

Not much of a difference.

They serve the same role.

One feeds the stomach, the

Other feeds the soul.

The contents must be,

held together.

So squeeze, we must.

Warm fluids flow, through

open valleys of the fingers.

Trickle slowly down a forearm.

Choking. Oozing. Blood. Ketchup.

The smell of iron, and

the taste of salty tears

The hands full, fumbles.

Compete to prove its efficiency.

Yet, it couldn’t catchup.

So a stream to a blob to a smudge.

On the white canvas of a blouse.

More hands, wet wipes.

Why won’t it go away?

A heartfelt burger finished;

A glutton for hearts;

An unsatiable appetite;

A hand no longer full;

Goes in search for another.
