The streets of the town of Adlerian became dimmer as the guards extinguished the lamp posts; leaving a few lit for late time wanders. Roads and alley ways paved in cobble stones seemed more menacing now that the light was gone. A hunched figure, cloaked in darkness moved through shadows with precision. The shape came to a stop outside of a battered house with a sign with an apothecary symbol carved into it. The lights of the front room were still lit, letting shadows betray the movements inside on the tattered curtain. A young woman with unbound hair was flitting from one side of the room to the other, movements agitated. She was carrying some kind of plant each time she passed the window.

“So she's nervous,” the shadow murdered aloud in a deep, and clearly masculine voice. The girl froze for half a second and the figure pulled himself deeper into the shadows. A sharp clicking sound drew the cloaked man's attention. An older man wobbled down the street, unsteady on his feet, carrying a small box. The old mans coat covered him completely except for his head which gave away a gray beard, and receding hair. His glasses kept sliding down his short nose, causing him stubble even more. Eventually the old man made it to the door of the apothecary and produced a key after much patting of pockets. The girl's shadow was staring at the door, but she jumped when the man entered. After a few words of conversation the girl disappeared in a flurry.

“Interesting...” the shadow murmured, then he turned away and hurried down the street.
