She left...

Sitting on the edge of the bed, contemplating all the time we shared, the memories we created.

It wasn't a lot she was asking for.

It wasn't impossible, I just never took the time.

She just wanted love and affection.

A little attention, some proof of appreciation.

I had taken her for granted thinking she'd never leave me, even though I ignored her needs.

She didn't ask for much, just a good morning beautiful, goodnight love text, a hug when I was pleased to see her and maybe even a kiss.

An I miss you, when she was truly missed.

She wanted for me to hold her hand, just because.

To lay with me wrapped around her like our comforters at night.

To be told she was beautiful, and no one else mattered to me as she did.

We talked about our future and our what ifs.

I thought I had time.

She got tired, it's clear it took me too long to finally be what she needed.

So she left and when she left a piece of me left with her.

She was my better half.

She gave me purpose, when i felt like giving up, she'd always knew how to put me back on the right path.

I was capable, I didn't prove myself, I didn't take her serious.

Without any further notice or even a goodbye, she slipped away without me even knowing.
