The Onklid  [Pan Quercus]

There’s a little known tropical island

Twix Madagascar and the Seychelles

Where the climate is humid and sticky

The land where the Onklid dwells

On this little known tropical island

Who’s name is Bally Toot-Toot

The trees grow lush, with thick foliage

But they never yield any fruit

You may wonder how Onklids survive there

In a land, where the trees fruit no more

For an Onklid’s a type of a primate

And they’re totally frugivore

They’re total freaks of evolution

As Darwin explained, just the once

For an Onklid is the only primate

With a fruit tree, grown out of its bonce

The fruit, from the tree, from an Onklid’s ‘ed

Is juicy, and tasty, and nice

But, if you think you may pinch some

Think again boy, you’d better think twice

Although Onklid’s look placid

And they seem rather cute

They will fight to the death

When protecting their fruit

I’ve heard of a man

Who took a right thumping

He didn’t think twice

And went Onklid–fruit scrumping

He wouldn’t have risked it

If he only knew

The Onklid’s great weakness

They love special brew

They do lots of bartering

On Bally Toot-Toot

Two cans of lager

Gets you one Onklid fruit
