Chapter 1: When the World Changed

The daily routine of city life, people driving, walking, or simply at home watching the television. Some watched a report on how a strange percentage of people had gone missing for 39 years straight, but now 15 years later the events of people going missing had stopped and gone to a more natural number. Many of those people who went missing were never found ever again, leaving authorities in wonder as to where they could have disappeared to.

"We have someone here today who had a family member go missing during the time period of the unknown disappearances. Would you mind introducing yourself?" An anchor of a news channel named Adam asks the guest.
"My name is Kacey, I'm a 60-year-old mother of two boys and one girl." Kacey introduced herself.

They first had a friendly conversation, mainly about her kids before going onto the serious topic.

"So, Kacey, the family member who went missing, who was it exactly?" Adam bluntly asks.
"It was my father, his name was Zack," Kacey replied.
"When did Zack disappear from your life?" Adam asked.
"My father went missing when I was just six-years-old and it was actually the day of a school theatre, the last time I saw and heard his voice was when he told me that he would be there to watch me perform in the play, but he never showed up to it nor did he ever came back home. Police and officials had searched for him but even to this day, a body was never found." Kacey explained.
"Unbelievable, how was it going through such a painful experience of your father having gone missing for almost 50 years now?" Adam having a shocked expression.
"I don't even know how to explain it, my brother Tim and my mother Chelsea. We all grieved for such a long time, if something did happen to him then we prayed that we could at least find his body to give him a proper funeral but nothing, it was especially more painful for my mother who had wished she could see him one last time before passing away." Kacey did her best to hold her tears.
"Such a tragedy, do you have any idea what could have possibly happened to him? Since I heard you actually made it almost a hobby in doing your own research on this matter?" Adam ending it with a final question.
"Whoever it was who made those go missing, they aren't normal. I don't understand why after 15 years the cases of missing people have gone down but I have a feeling whoever was doing it is still out there planning something." Kacey explained as she has been thinking and researching about the missing cases for such a long time.
"What are they planning?" Adam wondered.
"I don't know and that's what has been bothering me to the point of actually being....afraid," Kacey said, not wanting to go into details on her guesses.

Although many who had heard about the cases of people going missing for many years, some took it seriously while others kept living their worry free life. No one was prepared, nor did they ever expect on what was coming to them when everyone had strangely appeared in an unknown place that felt like they got transported onto. It became chaotic, everyone had no idea what was happening, where they were, or why it had happened. The only information everyone had received was some holographic video that appeared in front of everyone showing a blurred out man who spoke about it.

"Welcome to the full complete version of MMRPHG. I know many of you are clueless, anxious, and scared as to what is going on but you will need to set all of that aside and pay attention for this will be the only tutorial you will receive and once this video ends you will only have five minutes to prepare until the monstrosities begin to spawn." Another video appears showing an animation of a gesture. "As you can see on the right of me, that is how you open your Menu, by simply moving your hand up while your palm faces upwards. When opened, you will have seven options, a Map, Inventory, Party, Mastery and Perks, Crafting, Stats, and Clan. Not only that but you will see a live cam of yourself including your name and level above it. If you look at your left forearm, you will get to also see a live lifeline on your health and would change in certain circumstances, so be sure to check it occasionally. Now then, let's see if you all can survive this world or end up just like the others. Good luck." The man ended his speech there, not giving too much information away.

If there was one thing people were happy about before the five-minute countdown, it was the fact that those who had incurable diseases and such who got transported to MMRHPG had miraculously been cured. Those people who had any form sickness or wound got fixed like it was a godsend, making them feel happiness until that joyful feeling quickly turned into horror five minutes later when all hell broke loose.

Monsters of all sorts had begun to spawn, killing off a lot of the human race within such a short time on the first day of MMRPHG. When more days passed, many people began to grow selfish once they realized there was no law anymore and show a bad side they wouldn't have shown back in the original life they had. Those people started to steal, use, abuse, rape, dictate and kill others for their own selfishness.

The world was filled with nothing but horror, no one felt safe even among themselves, however, there was still those who held some small hope and courage to fight in the world that could bring their death at any moment.

One of those people was a 20-year-old woman named Anna, she walks the streets of the Condemned City on the east of Oreshire. The city was always clouded and chilly, Anna wore a basic hoodie with a t-shirt underneath and cargo pants she had taken from a man she killed.

"Gurh!" A pack of four Skinners is heard nearby.

Anna swiftly hid behind a stack of old bricks, observing those strange looking monsters with strange limbs and clouded faces that only show a single eyeball. Skinners are hard to kill and their devastating slashes can severely hurt someone, however, Skinners never go for a quick slash of death, they go for the painful slow death of clawing off a person's entire skin, teeth, nails, and eyeballs. Anna witnessed a victim herself which was a very young boy named Rick.

"AAHH!" A person screamed from afar, attracting the Skinners attention.

The sounds of gunfire and screams are heard regularly once every 10-20 minutes, Anna uses that to know which way not to head towards to.

"Ugh!" Anna had come across a street with five skinless dead bodies, letting off a lot of stench.

Covering her nose while checking them to see if they left any items behind outside of their Menus, Anna took notice of one of the bodies that is not skinless and chopped in half from the right shoulder all the way to the left side of their waist.

"My God." Anna not used to seeing such a gory sight.

After a thorough check, Anna managed to find a Taurus PT92 from one of the bodies. Checking the clip, the gun only had two bullets available. As winds blew harshly, Anna felt uneasy and didn't bother checking the rest of the bodies and continued on.

There are only four pistols in the whole world of MMRPHG that can be acquired, three of them have a 40% chance to drop from all monsters but a person can only have two. Although the chances to receive a gun is high, ammo is the one thing that has a low chance of 20% to drop and only varies from 1-3 bullets.

Anna has spent 46 days on the Condemned City, the same amount of days since MMRPHG begun. She draws near to the next location but enters an abandoned building where she planned to take a short break. Heading up the third floor, Anna figured no one was inside until the moment she leaves the pistol on the floor to remove her hoodie, a man named Oscar who had kept himself hidden and followed her the moment she entered the building, he points a Glock G19 at her.

"Hey!" Oscar shouted out to Anna letting her know she wasn't alone.

Having heard the voice, Anna slowly turned and sees the gun.

"Shit." Anna thought to herself.

Going into thinking and planning, Anna didn't bet for a single moment that Oscar was going to be a friendly fellow.
