Legs crossed and fingers interlocked, I sit alone.

Before me are two students. T-shirts, sneakers and a baseball cap? Good grief, clothing etiquette has gone down the drain. Whatever happened to tailcoats and bow ties?

And London? Dear boy, you must be from Ohio, because Britain is across the Atlantic.

Sighing with exasperation, I reach for the cup before me, took a short whiff, then put it aside with a scowl. It was cold and did not even smell like cold coffee. I dare say it weighs more in milk and sugar than actual coffee beans.

Oh well, it wasn’t even mine in the first place.

And, my word! There’s an oriental over there! And he speaks fluent English!

Hm? And what is that young lady doing with that flashing card-sized object in hand? Ah yes, I remember, they call it ‘instant-gramming’. Astounding; a palm-sized painting in a blink.

Anyway, it was about time I depart. Business to attend to and all that.

I rise, the chair scrapes noisily. Several turned and stared. I apologized and left.

Their eyes remain fixed on the chair, which seemingly moved for no reason.

They do not see me.

Do you?
