Watching the news unfold

I'm in tears as I write

We will not be defeated

Manchester unites.

Twenty second of May twenty seventeen

Twenty two lost their life

We will never forget them

Manchester unites.

Everyone has been to the arena

Different events, different nights

Nobody deserves not to come home

Manchester unites.

The city responded quickly

A queue of taxi lights

Made sure nobody was stranded

Manchester unites.

People flocked to the vigil

Albert square packed tight

A city shocked but determined

Manchester unites.

The Queen and PM paid tribute

Half mast flags in flight

Under the glare of a million cameras

Manchester unites.

The world's thoughts are with us

We are in the spotlight

Bloody but defiant

Manchester unites.

Tears and the grief on the streets

People asking are you alright

A city looking after its own

Manchester unites.

Our thoughts are with the families

Of those lost last night

A city, a nation, mourning

Manchester unites.
