Pity the goose who hung the noose, and did not check that it was loose

Enough to snap her pretty head, right clean off and leave her dead

Pity the fool who did not see, the menace lurking patiently

Behind the old sweet willow tree, to cut her open greedily

Pity the corpse all cold and grim, torn away from every limb

Missing bits and fleshy parts, stacked on rolling body carts

Pity the bold and daring one, remembering all that she has done

To incur the wrath of one, hacking till the deed is done

Pity the day I pull you near, confirming every secret fear

You wrap for me with every tear, like a present I hold dear

Pity when I lose my mind, and turn upon your filthy kind

Pity that they will never find, the skewered heart I’ll leave behind
