deep breaths between flame

no words for the mind tame-

a connection of sight, tender eyes

an election of slight touch, cries

she tries so hard to envelop

pulling weight from under me,

a week left for this to develop-

time flies when caring to be

perhaps I may draw close

or else shy away behind prose:

it is too obvious to stare

our gaze connects anywhere

she is aching to tell aloud

of her desire so proud-

a companion other than canine

to share her bed feline

helpful and eager to please

my warming heart is at ease,

commitments we've made freely

and gathering resolve steely
