I've never known innocence, the beauty of being ignorant,

My bed filled with dirty sheets, instead of a warm sun,

I've never known how to be a daughter, never been anything let alone someone,

Someone important, someone neccesary,

Everyone's burden I've had to carry, including my own,

Alone.

The promises of never hurting, and now I'm searching,

Searching to heal, never knowing if my pain was real,

The screaming is getting loud..

Never made anyone proud. Never had that in me,

The promises of pulling out, not allowing me to shout,

Pull away, so inside me you stay,

Never had any consquences, allowed to hurt others,

But with your actions did you even bother..

Understanding what could come out of this?

The innocence I haven't had the chance to miss,

My hatred is growing like a weed, and boy,

You better pray that I bleed,

Too much of a boy to have a child,

Too much of a coward to admit you defiled me,

Too much to actually open your eyes and see,

I hate you.

I hate that you can go on, like nothing ever happened,

Me? Everyday I wish it could end, I wish I could mend this pain,

But each day it drives me even more insane,

So you ask me about innocence? I'll ask you what it is,

And how to retrieve it, if it was even there,

And I wish I could care, but I don't,

I've become to numb to try, too numb to cry,

So go on forgetting, go on with your life like I never existed,

Claim the life you've always wanted, you'll never claim the evil you've resisted,

If you choose to ask forgiveness, I'll forgive,

But I won't forget, I won't let you own me,

But somehow you won't let me be,

You haunt me everyday,

And I don't think I will ever be okay.
