Run, they say, as fast as you can, away from every sinful man

Who’ll hold you high and help you stand, then kick you down and watch you land

Right on your back in sinking sand, and never will he lend a hand

To pull you out the mess you’ve made; he’ll simply let your beauty fade

Run, they say, and don’t look back, if you wish to stay on track

Close your ears, and blind your eyes, to all the blatant ghastly lies

They will throw up just to disguise. their ruined hearts from purer eyes

Please, they say, don’t sympathize, with the one who only tries

To tear you up and keep you down; they long to see you on the ground

Run, they say, do not return

To this place that soon shall burn
