Just a simple, melancholy poem I wrote. Designed to be sorrowful and joyful at the same time.

I sit gazing at the night sky,

With her many shining stars

That dance around her in the night

Away from our world so far.

I look up to the heavens,

A sad smile on my face

Imagining how you stand up there

With celestial, gentle grace.

All of those years you loved me,

Though to others, I was coy.

You looked at me with violet eyes

Filled with divine, eternal joy.

Now you are gone, but I do not weep

When I remember you.

For as you left, you shed tears of joy

For all that we've been through.

I sit in the tree we always climbed

Where we wished upon a star

And dared to look into the heavens

Pure, blue, and unmarred.

Someday, I'll join you in the heavens,

And we'll gaze upon the world.

We'll remember how we loved it,

And how its seas once swirled.

You told me I would find someone

Who would guide me near and far.

And I suppose your wish came true -

For you, you were my star.
