They ride the rails of darkness

Across the shadowed places

In and out of the just beyond

And into empty spaces.

I hear the whistle sounding

It shreds the stillness of the night

And the sounds of steel on steel

Somehow seems so right.

There it is and there it goes

I was left behind --- in pain.

The conductor did not call me

To board the reapers train.
