The Devil takes the semblance of the dead

to make us feel enslaved, prodigal sons

discover no immortal love in bed

and must content themselves with fun or guns.

To kill oneself is to avert one’s gaze.

A child forgot to lock Pandora’s box;

when young, he dreamt of stars and warmer days,

yet now he searches for some keys and locks,

for his lost dad, the one he never had,

an accident, the father of the lie:

a suicidal alibi for sad

and empty guys who never question why

it is their mind torments them with these thoughts:

to play Russian roulette or draw some lots.
