A Dream with a Scent of Nightmare

This city sure is strange. All of it looks like a dream, everything feels like a dream, but is it possible to exist in such a beautiful dream, maybe I’m lying to myself, I might just be crazy after all that happened. Dreams are scary though, everything that happens can be awesome and maybe the best thing you can experience, but when you wake up you find yourself crying as none of it was real.  After recollecting about my childhood I must say, my life might have been a nightmare, yet I still believe in the possibility of it being a dream.

My parents knew since I was born that I wasn’t the smartest kid in the bunch, yeah I wasn’t dumb, but I wasn’t smart either, a complete average kid you might say. My parents always treated me like that which I was and am an average kid. They never expected me to be talented or to excel at sports or school, they went to see the spelling bee contests at school yet they never cheered for me as they knew I wasn’t able to get the first place; I practiced football and basketball, and I guess I had fun even though they never went to see my games (I always sat on the bench).

My brother, on the other hand, has always been a genius at everything he does, don’t get me wrong for me he is the only friend I’ve ever had and he had always hoped on me, even though I’m just a nobody. He went to see my games and even argued with the coaches to let me play at least a little (I liked the bench though, it was really warm and comfy) and he always bought me ice cream after the games ended. The only trait he has that I’m jealous of is his luck, people give him free stuff because he is handsome and even there are times where he finds money or toys from nowhere, “If it’s on the floor, it’s worth even more” he likes to say, and I also want to find money on the floor, but I haven’t had so much luck since I saw that beautiful wallet. I hope something good happens today, but what is exactly something good? Maybe free food.
