Twist went the dagger in my heart, the moment I found we were to part

Gone was the light within my eyes, and up went my solid, cold disguise

I remember the hues of black and white, replaced all colors and brought the night

Splashing across the day bright sky, and caused the rainbows all to die

No longer was there a reason why, for me to tell each simple lie, and hide the tears I longed to cry

I broke—and let the roses dry

The shattering part was easy enough, but cleaning up was all too rough

The shards I glued tore though my skin, and ripped my wounds apart again

I do not know just how or when, I’ll find the strength to live again

I only know you killed my heart, and left me empty, in the dark
