This is a poem about the limbo we are on, when our lover doesn't love us as much as we love them, but we are unable to be set free. We love them with so much intensity, and we don't want to let them go. We think we can change them, and we think we can make them fall for us, but as we take one step forward towards them, they get more and more out of reach. This is about having unreciprocated feelings for someone... is there a worse curse than that?

The Curse of You

I am cursed with the curse of you;
Unable to start my life anew.
Fighting to wake up from this slumber;
That’s the spell you put me under.

Waiting for my true love’s kiss,
But, oh, how ignorance is bliss.
How could I ever wake up
If it was my lover who casted this curse?

I trusted you and took your hand,
While we dance to the rhythm of your band.
Like a fool I fell for you,
Now I’m in the darkness feeling blue.

The curse is manifested through your smile;
The way it disarms me it’s oh so vile.
And when your hands touch my skin,
I forget I am living a life of sin.

I am cursed with the curse of you;
Unable to start my life anew.
The curse is to love you so,
But you ain’t my friend, you are the foe.
