Still as broken as the last 14th may

The day I received the call that you had died

Your sister’s voice that I’d never heard

Yet she had the strength to tell me the word

Not quite understanding what she said

The only thing circling is my head was: “he is dead”

I can’t remember hanging up the phone

Or the cold breeze that swept through flesh and bone

Slowly realizing what it meant

But only getting out: “he was in an accident”

I called a friend to tell her he’s gone

The screams of hers, I can still hear them go on

More than a year has already passed

The time, my friend, goes on so terribly fast

The empty space you left behind

A loss of presence in our soul and mind

Everyday you’re being missed

But in our hearts you’ll always exist
