This poem is about a lover who no longer is, as he gave his heart to somebody else. These are some of the questions we might ask them, and ourselves, as we're trying to get over them, but at the same time, hoping that they'll turn around and be with us, where they belong.

What Will Become?

What will become of my heart,
The moment you inevitably leave?
We’ve already been torn apart
But this time I refuse to believe,
I can be off to a brand new start.

What will become of you,
When you realize he ain’t the one,
And he breaks your heart in two?
When he’s finally over and done,
What then will you want to do?

What will become of our favorite song,
When it comes on the radio
But we can no longer sing along?
And the moment it comes through your stereo,
Won’t you feel like we belong?

What will become of you and me,
When I can no longer hold your face,
But you’re the place I want to be?
Will I get trapped in an endless haze,
Or will you hear my piercing plea?

What will become when it no longer is,
And we still want it so bad to be,
But your heart it’s still linked to his,
And my heart it’s still linked to thee?
What will become when it no longer is?
