selfish

6-7-2016

defeated by kindness

my soul lives a highness

(throne open for your likeness)

slowly conscious breaks

protective walls quake-

she arrives on time, never too late

it has been days since the ways

of voice-song held throng, phase

the brain and elope a craze

her friend stares, wishing honest fair

used to attention and care- waiting there

courtesy abound as I return and rebound

interrupt dreams with unknown scheme,

where do we go from here (I lean)

drowning in poison or swallow fear

what is it that you equate (dear)

in her mind, thoughts race to fate near

but coincidence is elate and refrain

we are so fortunate to exist now

grateful for meals and happiness' wow

now embrace hearts for union's prow

call me selfish, an intruder

but none more honest, ruder

call me anything you want, call sooner
