Dear Significant Other,

Do you remember the day we said “I love you” to each other? Well I do. We were stargazing in that big field we used to go to. I looked into your beautiful brown eyes and said those three magical words. Life for us became a lot better after that. We graduated from the same university with smiles on our faces. We got married at 25 and traveled the world together for a year. At 28, we had our first child, Chase. We raised him to be a responsible and well-mannered young man. While we raised him, we did have our ups and downs. Do you remember when Chase drew on the wall and we got in an argument over how to punish him? We made up eventually just how we always do. Do you remember our 10 year anniversary when we went to Paris? That was an unforgettable night. We laughed and danced the night away. Do you remember our marriage? Chase’s birthday? School events? Anything? Do you remember? On the 17th of June exactly 23 years ago? Don’t you remember? You have to remember. You have to. Then again, I wouldn’t expect you to. You never showed up. Now do you remember? That day on the big field the day we stargazed. You were never there. You never showed up. Now do you remember the day I said I love you? I do. That was the day you left.
