There is a bell in the old church tower

It does not call the faithful --- anymore.

The church's organ doesn't have all its keys

And one of the pedals is stuck at the floor.

The rugs and curtains are faded

And the pews could use some care.

The hymnbooks are taped together

And there's hardly enough to share.

But on Christmas morning this church comes alive

And the pews are packed with the poorest of poor

They come to give thanks for what little they have

And they sing, (Yes they sing!), like never before.
