Class Act

I have spent my adult life searching for the boy of my teens. I put him on a pedestal; rightfully so. The top of the class, the captain of the team and the good guy that everyone liked. He was beautiful to me and still is. I never felt quite good enough for him; although this was never spoken aloud by either of us. As people often do, I transferred my insecurities into my reality.

I set a goal to be amazing. To be as fit as he was, as smart as I was capable of, and laser focused. I told myself that if we could be even in our manner and skills we may have a future.

I never planned on her; the minister’s daughter and co-ed. I guess it was meant to be; You are still there and I still long for those who remind me of you. People can’t be replaced and similar is not good enough. You were always a touch act to follow.
