We Were Good

I’m standing where we once stood,
Reminding me what we had was good.
And even though now it’s all over,
These moments I will cherish them forever.

In a safe place I’ll keep what we had;
The good memories and even the bad.
Our future is gone but I still have the past;
These images will surely everlast.

Although I didn’t like the ending,
My wounds are already mending.
And now that I can see clear,
There is no longer fear.

I’ll remain thankful because I met you,
Because my feelings were always true.
You gave me the best weeks of my life,
Even if it cut me like a knife.

Now when I think of you I only smile,
And when I cry it’s just for a while.
Because I’m standing where we once stood,
And I remember that we were good.
