An old lady said onto me,

Every day is a blessing,

Perhaps she was senile,

For everyday I am stressing,

Is stressing a blessing,

When my stomach’s pit turns sour,

As I struggle to breathe,

Yet my chest lacks the power,

Is stressing a blessing,

When waking up starts a repetitive flow,

And not a soul understands me,

They can’t all be slow,

Is stressing a blessing,

When only death seems sweet,

Feeling synonymous with dirt,

Beneath the heaviest of feet,

Is stressing a blessing,

When tears wont leak,

Leaving me to cry inside,

Feeling physically weak,

Is stressing a blessing,

 When I feel so alone,

Pain heavy on my chest,

Like a sinner being stoned,

Is stressing a blessing,

When sadness runs like warm blood through slit veins,

And the tears I wish I could cry,

Are equivalent to heavy rains against window panes,

Is stressing a blessing,

In the absence of rest while sleeping all night,

And the world can’t fathom my sorrow,

So I pretend that its all right,

Is stressing a blessing,

When my world’s burning and I know its me,

No soothing this heart ache,

So I pour my heart into this poetry,

How is stressing a blessing,

When I’m screaming for help,

And there’s no hero around,

Not even…….my self,
