As we are in Pride Month, I wanted to publish some poems dedicated to the love of my life. After many heartaches throughout the years, I finally found a guy that loves me, respects me, and supports me all the way. We've been together for fourteen months now, and we've been doing long distance as he was just a Freshman when I graduated from college, so he's finishing his degree back home while I work hard in the U.S. to provide for a better future. He's my everything, and then some. This poem is for him, and for everyone who found love knocking at their door when they least expected it. I hope you enjoy it.

The World Don't Matter

Like being wrapped inside a thunderstorm,
shaking my ground out of its form.
Like a master in Poker Face disguise,
you took me completely by surprise.

Like sunrays cracking through the morning,
you came in without a warning.
Ant though your presence was uninvited,
I must say I was surprisingly delighted.

As I slowly started getting used to you,
we painted burning red what it used to be so blue.
Though at first it was like a clueless game,
you made your move and you got perfect aim.

In you I found all I ever wanted,
but it's also everything I needed.
And as hand in hand we walk towards the light,
I can finally say that I'm alright.

So I'm standing here and I know why;
it's because you're a one-in-a-million-kinda-guy.
And I'm dipping my toe in the water,
because the rest of the world don't matter.
