Paper peels itself from walls with ease
like leaves returning to soil in curled
fetal positions.
Energy repressed surges outwards,
like glaciers parading legacies
to mountains in silent grief.

Rain taps in valleys
of arid surface, pledging life
to molecular corpses,
like dust returning to a
taut epidermis.

Air tears a hole in its belly,
a singularity of infinite density,
where stars return as
black holes to burn
the fuels once
their own -

where a nebula of memories
spills its ink onto the air
like an enchantment,
diffusing outwards.
