Tired of the metaphors
These words tease relentlessly

All my sense has gone out with Saturdays trash

Rhymes that match the beat of a broken heart

Somehow I haven't yet fallen completely apart

I wrote the letter

Gave it no address, and I sent it anyway

In a box, I shipped my soul away

Gone with the oxygen that's carried by the airless wind

This is a game I was never meant to win

Follow my broken pieces, red dots on a treasure map

See if you can fix the mistakes
That I couldn't take back

It's the high
That gets me this way

It's the flight
That takes me so far away

Higher and higher
That's really
My only desire

Too far away to turn back now
Fight to the death with the devil
As he tries to bring me back down

Goodbye to the past
And hello to tomorrow

We're all just livin' off of time that is borrowed
