Just Like I Thought

Well, it pretty much came true

I fell in love

__and got screwed

Had I never gave her my number

Had I never smothered her

I wouldn't have lost her

I don't know if deleting thee archive

Erased the messages on her screen too

So I don't even know if I'm doomed

I came across a flying meatloaf

__in the sky

Ad she asked me if I wanted to die

As much as I know I should have said "no"

I don't know if I even answered

__at all

If the world is this screwy

What am I doing?

I leap from pod to pod

Latching onto every woman I come across

But I can't hold onto this one

She's let go of me

Our overness has dawned

I'm here with my chicken

At the place of my first green bud high

The rest of the park looks new

Except for the very spot

Where 2 of the 3 tall trees

__that shaded the spot

____of my first time smokin' the chronic

Where I had the best high

But now me and weed broke up

I no longer chase after that high anymore

Which is good

"But, why God, did you have to take

__my trees from me?"

Now Sophie is gone

It was bad enough she was so far away

Now we're just not talking

The peeling flesh from my forearm

And the vast emptiness in my heart

__have one thing in common

"How does a man live a life like this?"

I ask whatever Higher Power there is

And an answer I have not found

I lose myself in this silly game

__that she plays on me

This sick twisted trick

In 2 days I will have been single

__for 3 years

God, what a torture this has been

It didn't help me

At all!

My guess is "this is what I get

For leaving some one for dead"

But I had to do it

She was no good for me

Now I'm too old for somebody else

What the Hell did I need that learning experience

__if I don't get to apply

____what I have learned from it?
