This poem is about the waiting game. Basically, being in the limbo; not knowing where you stand with the person you love. Do they love you? Why can't they tell you if your feelings aren't reciprocated?

The Waiting Game

Playing with you’s a waiting game;
It’s like burning on a flame.
It feels like drinking whiskey after wine;
Gambling behind enemy lines.

How much longer will I have to wait,
Standing on this destiny-less gate?
Will I be consumed by all this hate?
Or will you save me before it’s too late?

Waiting for you’s a waiting game,
And I walk away in shame.
How can I possibly make you feel,
Everything I’ve had to conceal?

Just come to me and break my heart;
Make my existence fall apart.
Just come and do me wrong;
Tell me that with me you don't belong.

At least that way I would know
That you don’t love me so.
I can finally burn out the flame,
And take my heart out of this waiting game.
