Just For A Moment

Just for a moment, I’ll feel that you’re there,

that this is one time with which we can share;

I’ll rest my head on your shoulder, breathing you in,

my heart’s in a whirl and my head starts to spin.

I’ll put my arms around you, a total embrace

so that all of my fears are held back in place.

But then I do realize that me, I deceive,

You’re miles away, no matter what I believe.

The arms that are holding me – well, they’re my own,

I’m standing here weeping, still sadly alone.

A so cruel deception that causes me pain,

but the pleasure’s so great I will do it again.

Dreams are my company, if dreams they must be;

but from them I would never desire to be free.
