I woke up this morning,

rushing out of bed .

Feeling the sting of the sun on my head.

On this, my very last day.

Taking a shower,

washing over my guilt and sin.

If I could ever make it better,

it would be today.

On my very last day.

Following the usual routine,

I go to the local shop to grab a meal.

Grabbing a cheap sandwich,

the checkout girl flirting with me.

if only it wasn't,

my very last day.

I get to my car,

the interior so hot from the sun.

I reach for the seat belt,

and pull it over my shoulder.

I turn the key in the ignition

driving away for the final time

on my very last day

turning down a side road,

I see a thin set of wooden train tracks.

I pull over to the curb,

leaving my car running.

Won't be needing it anymore.

I walked the short distance,

laying down on the rustic wood.

Perfect place to end,

my very last day...
