A poem about the little things that happen when you really want to sleep. Ironically, I wrote this instead of sleeping. I hope I am not the only one who experiences his haha!

Melatonin,

Chamomile,

Tall glass of water

&

Cool breeze to make me drift.

Methodic procedure.

Teeth are clean,

Hair is brushed.

Jammies and all.

I even brought a glass of water.

My eyes are heavy.

The day’s been long.

The book on my nightstand taunts me.

“One more page?”

Not tonight, fantasy!

I am ready for the dreams.

Lights are off.

I should succumb,

Eventually.

Why would I drink so many liquids?

Blankets are crooked.

Air’s too hot.

Whining neighbor.

Noisy highway.

I should really write that thought down before I forget!

Looks like tonight’s not the night,

that I’ll catch my escaped ZZZs
