Once there was a silly girl

Who loved to watch the snowflakes swirl

Everyday she'd wake up new
Her only reason for fighting
Was you.

Faith and hope filled her to the brim
All of this light emanated from within

Until the day came that you said you

could no longer be

Her knight in shining armor

You had to break free
But once the bond was broken

So was she

Now she writes broken poetry
on blank white sheets

Trying to staunch the steady flow of pain

That washes over her like the summer storm rain
Some nights she cries herself to sleep

When she has tired of counting the long lost sheep

Her light has grown dim since then

As the darkness begins to creep

She whispers

Love, how could you do this to me?
