My grandma used to say that day dreaming is healthy it can help you wander off to a different world where in you forget all your troubles and problems, even if it is for a while. She used to do that a lot staring at things and people around her would think shes a crazy old hag. I really loved watching her do that. I once asked her how does it feel to be all alone and on your own? She would just keep quiet and smile. I never understood that I thought maybe she didn't want to tell me or maybe she thought I was still too young to understand things. One day she saw me drawing and she asked me "why don't you go out with your cousins and play with them"? I was quiet and just didn't want her to know that i really don't fit in or maybe I am this weird kid. She smiled, her angelic smile was something so soothing and peaceful it made her wrinkles look beautiful. she slowly put her hand on mine , she said , "let me tell you something, being alone doesn't mean you are a sad and a lonely person, its actually something where you slowly learn about yourself and its like a secret world, you get to do what you want, you can carry your thoughts anywhere, close your eyes and listen to whatever is around, now i have made friends in my own world, everyday I wake up and sit at the porch with my eyes closed everything I feel and think at that moment makes me young again, and Oh I do not wish to go back to the past again because this moment is beautiful." Its been fives years now since she has passed away and I am now in her world, I sit at the porch with my eyes closed my body left lose, there I can feel her presence and see her, the most beautiful woman on earth that wise grey eyes, shuffling feet, yellowing teeth, old fashioned clothes and her permed hair. She smiles at me and I smile back. Because of her I keep my phone away and hold the brush.
