In this place I don't belong

Where everyday I feel alone

I call this place my home

In a city of old

I walk in the cold

And watch the birds fly away

Oh how I envy them

Escaping this madness with their friends

How I would love to be like them

To visit forest

And lakes alike

To fly in the sky and feel alive

Away from this constant drought of creativity

And constant flow of negativity

I live to smile

Not for money

I want to help those I love

And bring joy to all

I don't live for richness

But rather kindness

So why am I trapped

In this body on the ground

Choking and dying

Where I don't belong
