I had no problems

In the sun I'd play with the stray cats

Rain I'd sit and wonder when God's next strike would be

I couldn't wait to show off new clothes in school

No one would ever get hurt

If I hurt my foot mommy'd kiss it better

I really believed her kiss helped

As I got older the strays found homes

I found out the real reason for thunderstorms

And new styles came around

People started taking names to heart

I stopped stubbing my toe and started breaking bones

When your childhood ends

That's when everything changes

And everyone's story begins.
