Hours go by

I do not even realise

Awaiting your return

Some undesirable concern

Dawn hit already

Time for a nap

Lights off, not sleepy

Haunting fear of a mishap

Relief settles upon your arrival

A glimpse of you for restlessness to allay

just to render easy my survival,

despite being conscious of your shortlived stay

And again dies out the light

For yet just another sleepless night
